Der Goldene Schmetterling / Michael Kertesz, 1926 / 82 min. Incl. introduction / live music: Mikkel Meyer + Ida Bach Jensen
Michael Kertesz, The director behind Casablanca, made a number of ambitious films in Berlin and Vienna in the 1920’s, as he challenged Hollywood on glamour, style, star-quality and dance choreography. This is exemplified in the aesthetic, sensual and overwhelmingly tragic ‘The Golden Butterfly’ with the films star, former model Lili Damita. Remember your handkerchief!
Live music: Behind this liveperformance is the duo with laptop musician Mikkel Meyer and Ida Bach Jensen, who plays the classic contra bass with soundeffects. This will be interesting!
Before the concert the Austrian embassy treats you to a glass of wine at The Cinemateques Asta Bar.
